Comeback run after 17 months off track

This should’ve been a winning return to racing for La Suerte De Matar but she got hampered on 2x separate occasions by the same perpetrator who miraculously survived the objection and kept the race. Watch the replay to see how La Suerte is impacted and has to check and lose her stride late as well as having her running taken up earlier on.

Sept 2016 – moved to Duncan Howells for racing career part 2.

Back under saddle after a 6 month break

4th April 2016

6 months of rehab done and dusted. Weighing in at 540kgs after protracted box rest period followed by hand-walking and then onto trotting on a lead in the paddock. Going back under saddle this month to begin progressive build up back to full work.

Injured in freak accident during final gallop before making debut early 2015. Debut delayed until June. Raced 4x times until August picking up multiple injuries. Taken out of training Oct 2015. Vet checked – recurring injury to off-fore fetlock synovitis and capsulitis. Prognosis 50/50 chance of being able to ever race again. Decision taken to rehabilitate – sent to Leon Setaro

Moved to Tracy Woolard in June for 4 months for time to grow. Kept in paddock and put back into light work later on, then sent to Garth Puller for training.
