2017-08-09 : R17k purchase MOGOKITY wins in a lonely canter unchallenged in only her 2nd start since being stolen earlier this year off the Shongweni Auction.click to view
Owner Francois Van Ghent had been wanting a grey to sail home his silver silks for as long as I’ve known him and far beyond.. so it was a great pleasure to finally source and land what looked to be the perfect subject for his future mantle-piece showcase pic.
With proven track record, clean legs, perfect soundness all round and not a cent to be spent, she was a no-brainer to buy even at twice the price. All she needed was a break from her grueling schedule to reconstitute and she would be back to firing in no time.. short term returns for chuck-out money!
Today she earned a sweet R37k in stakes for her cantering photo-shoot, more than double her purchase price just a few months ago, and she nailed down the dream pic done and dusted. This was her biggest winning margin to date and she came from the back of the field to mow-gokity them down with the greatest of ease.
As the day unfolded there was more joy to come for the FVG team when Francois’ 2nd runner of the day Let’s Go West landed the silver-silks double for the same 4-way owner/trainer/jockey/bloodstock agent combo, wrapping up a day never to be forgotten. Congrats to all concerned.
